Greetings from the Junior department.....
We have been busy, busy,
busy...I would like to share some activities you may have spotted Junior
Grangers at these past few weeks...here in Berks County, we honored our
14 year-olds at a recent Pomona meeting. They were given hooded
sweatshirts from the Berks County Junior Grange Team as a thank you for
their hard work and dedication to the Junior Grange program...They will
all be missed, BUT have promised to be helpers at future Junior Grange
activities...We CAN’T afford to lose them...
The Berks County Juniors
were busy collecting soda tabs for the past year. At our December Pomona
meeting, they were all turned in...We collected over 50 pounds of soda
tabs...no matter how you size it up...IT WAS A LOT!!!! They were all
donated to the Shriner’s Hospital for their continued efforts...
Marion Junior Grangers
celebrated Christmas with a friendship fruit salad...Every Junior was
asked to bring in 2 pieces of fresh fruit to share to make our fruit
salad...It turned out great and every morsel was enjoyed by the
juniors...Santa also found time in his busy schedule to stop by our
meeting to visit with the Juniors...
January found several
Juniors busy helping at the PA Farm Show "Farmer For A Day" play
area...we swept, helped the chickens with their eggs, helped to keep the
scarecrows busy and swept some more...It is a great opportunity to visit
with tired parents as their children enjoy some safe fun...
Yes, BUSY is the word for
the Juniors...what are you up to? Share your news with the Junior
Department and just maybe, you’ll see yourself in a future Advocate
article...
Happy being busy...
