JONATHAN SATTAZAHN MEMORIAL FUND

Jonathan’s family is giving a large donation to establish a memorial fund within the Pennsylvania Grange Foundation to benefit the Youth and Junior Departments by enabling more young people to attend Youth Camp and Junior Camp. Jon loved camp so much that they want to make the experience available to more kids through their financial gift. If you wish to make a donation to the Jonathan Sattazahn Memorial Fund, make checks payable to PA Grange Foundation – Sattazahn Fund and mail to the State Grange Office, 20 Erford Rd., Suite 310, Lemoyne, PA 17043.

Virginville Junior Grange Turns 50

We were honored to have in attendance our first Junior Matron, Grace M. Henninger; past Junior Leaders - Annetta W. Merkel and Jeffrey D. Wetzel, who also served as Pennsylvania State Grange Junior Directors; Jane L. Reppert, Shirley A. Burkhart, Doris M. Hoffman, Marie E. Schaeffer and Henry L. Seidel. Virginville Junior Grange’s current leader is Brenda E. Lengel and Martha E. Bollinger, Assistant Leader.

A covered dish social was held and was followed by a Christmas program presented by the Juniors. A visit from Santa Claus, along with the annual peanut scramble made for an enjoyable evening for all ages. Virginville Junior Grange continues to meet at the same time as our Subordinate Grange with 14 current members.

New for 2008!

Mark your calendars now. The State Grange is planning to hold four Family Picnics around the state. These will be covered dish picnics and the host Grange will provide drinks. You need to bring a covered dish, plates, utensils, lawn chairs and enthusiasm.
This is an opportunity for Grangers and friends to get together for fun, food and fellowship in a family setting.
