Buffalo Grange #1523, Washington County,
Presents "St. Patrick's Day" Program
By Ruth Walker

Family Activities Chairperson March 14, 2008 saw 35 Grangers attend Buffalo Grange's "St. Patrick's Day" Program.

The program was planned by Ruth Walker, F.A. chairperson. The program included a song by Peggy O'Neil, Devotions by Chaplain Marge Perrin, based on St' Patrick's origin and "The Origin of St. Patrick's Day" by Ruth McGurgan.

Five brothers and pianist Amy Hickman (in photo below) performed, led by their very own "Englishman" Frank Baker. They sang two numbers and then had 93 year-old Sister Eleanor Hunter do an Irish "Reading" from memory. They even had a mock Blarney Stone, guarded by leprechaun Bill Church [unfortunately the photo would not scan].
Norman "Sonny" Richmond then told jokes before Barb Paxton and Sue Liggitt gave out door prizes. They closed the program with "Let Me Call You Sweetheart."
Their Secretary, Lois Moore then gave a history of Buffalo Grange #1523 in commemoration of their 96th year, having been originally chartered in March, 1912.
