Dear Editor,
Some months ago The Advocate had
an article about making helmet liners for the troops and a
pattern. The Beech Flats and Windfall Granges (Bradford
County) along with some community ladies started on this
project. At the time of State Grange we had 69 helmet liners
to deliver, only to find, when talking to Family Activities,
they had no place to send them. We then contacted Holiday
Morale in Granville Summit, Pa., who faithfully send
packages to our troops and they said they could use them to
send to Afghanistan, where it is colder.

I just thought if there are
other Granges who have made helmet liners and did not have
any place for them, this may be an outlet.
I have checked with John
Shaffer, who owns the Canton Independent Sentinel, and he
said we have his permission to reprint this article (letter
to right) in The Advocate.
Sincerely,
Marjorie Pratt
Dear Daisy
Wright and Volunteers at Operation Holiday Morale,
I am writing to thank you for
once again supporting the Soldiers of the 213th Area Support
Group.
The
time and skill that your group put into making each and
every hat [helmet liner] sent to our unit was amazing, but
nothing compared to the heart and spirit that you have shown
our troops. The hats have been passed out and were a great
morale booster for our soldiers. Your unwavering support
will be remembered not only by me but also by the Soldiers
of the 213th Area Support Group for many years to come.
In appreciation for your
generosity and as a reminder of those you support, I have
enclosed a photograph [below] of some of our soldiers with
your donation.
Again, thank you. Knowing that we have the support of folks
like you back home makes us all feel proud to serve in the
United States Armed Services.
Sincerely,
Brian K. Leonhard
