Rohrer Fishing License Gift Voucher Legislation Sails Unanimously Through State House

Republican Chairman of the Pennsylvania House Game and Fisheries Committee, Rep. Sam Rohrer (R-Berks) announced today that his legislation to allow third-party purchases of Pennsylvania fishing license gift vouchers was unanimously approved by the state House on Monday.
House Bill 948 is now in the Senate awaiting consideration.
“Currently Pennsylvania citizens do not have the option of purchasing a fishing license for another individual,” said Rohrer. “I am confident that final and immediate enactment of House Bill 948 will greatly increase angler license sales, streamline purchasing convenience and most importantly, when it comes to boosting interest in the personally rewarding sport of fishing, encouraging our young people to pick up a fishing rod rather than the remote control or video game controller.”
If House Bill 948 passes the state Senate and is signed into law in a timely fashion, Pennsylvania fishing license gift certificate vouchers may be available for purchase in time for the Christmas season.
