January 2003 - Talk to your peers

As a Grange leader, it is sometimes difficult to maintain a positive and optimistic attitude in your Grange. Occasionally it seems you are surrounded with the same problems and the same people and you can’t make any positive changes. In these moments it can get frustrating to be a Grange leader.

One answer is to talk with your peers. Other Community Grange leaders in the same position, or other Pomona, or State Grange leaders are your peers. Get outside your Grange and talk to those who may have similar problems. It often helps your perspective and attitude and sometimes you get a solution that might work in your Grange.

Good leaders talk with each other because they know that each Grange is important and each leader has different answers. By talking to each other, they reinforce the positives and share potential solutions. Each becomes a better leader and the Grange benefits.

Talk with your peers and watch your attitude rise!
