As a Grange leader, team building is crucial. When you are
required to appoint a committee, do some team building by identifying the
skills the task needs. Public relations, budgeting, cooking, organization,
and leadership skills could all be needed for a Grange dinner.
Determine what skills are most important for the job at
hand. Get input from your leadership team, especially your Overseer, on what
skills they think are needed by the team members. Take time to think about
the different skills that might make the job easier for all the members.
Don’t fill a committee with whomever, try building a team.
Start by identifying the skills that might be needed to accomplish the task.
Create stronger committees by starting to build a team.
