Try It Out
|
Leadership is about
empowering your members. You help them turn their dreams into reality.
Statements like, “We’ve never done it that way before,” do not encourage
members to try new things. When your members are regularly suggesting new
activities, both fund-raising and service, that they want to try, your
Grange members will be empowered.
Many successful companies have started out with the idea that they will
try anything that fits their core values. So can your Grange. Any activity
should be examined to make sure it fits with your Grange's core values and
vision. If it does, try it out.
The great thing about this method is that failure is not a bad thing. If
you try a number of new activities and only part of them are successful,
you will have achieved success. Failure becomes a learning experience
without punishment or shame as your Grange grows by trying it out.
Encourage your Grange to take each idea and try it out and you will become
a better leader in your Grange!
