Stretch Yourself and Your Members
|
by Ed Luttrell
National Grange Director of Leadership and Membership
To create growth in your Grange you need to stretch
yourself as a leader and you need to get your members to join you in
expanding their abilities. Stretching means that you are not sure about
getting a job done and it will require effort and time to get the task
done.
When you make the choice to stretch yourself, you will take on a task or
job that you’ve never done before. When you start you may not know how you
are going to get it done, but you’re sure that you will find a way. When
you get your members to buy into being a part of the team, they will also
grow with you as they stretch to find solutions.
As you and your members stretch, you will learn new skills and strengthen
your current abilities. Stretching requires that you leave your comfort
zone and that causes you to grow as a leader. Once you and your members
have learned to stretch yourselves, it becomes easier and easier to try
new and difficult things that can create growth in your Grange.
Stretch yourself and your members and become a better leader in your
Grange!
