Take a Step

No matter what direction your Grange is going, you can change direction by taking a step in a new direction.

Leaders have a powerful effect on the direction of the Grange. You don’t have to be the elected leader, only someone others look to for input and advice.

As a Grange leader, step out in a new direction when your Grange isn’t growing. When you change direction and move forward, other members will follow. Share why you are trying something new or different. Be positive and optimistic as you take the first step in a new direction. Remember that only the first step is yours.

After the first step others will join the team and take the Grange down the new road you’ve started on.

While it may seem uncomfortable to try something new, it is an essential part of being a great leader. Your courage will inspire others to follow you in the new path and over time will encourage others to become leaders in your Grange.
