Do you ever feel burned out, or that you're spinning
your wheels? It is sometimes difficult to stay enthused and energized,
especially if you've held the same leadership position for a while. In
order to keep your attitude a positive, and "can do" one, you need to
develop balance in your life.
Maintaining quality time for family and your faith is
the keystone to balance. In addition, most of us have to have adequate
time to devote to a job in order to pay our bills. These three things will
consume most of our day. In the remaining waking time that we have, we
must achieve a balance. Do you have hobbies or activities you enjoy? Do
you need some time to relax without worry?
Take five to ten minutes each week and prioritize your
spare time so that you don't feel cheated at the end of the week. Allot
some time for a favorite activity or a bit of down time. If something is
going to take extra time this week, next week you'll put it at the bottom
of your list. By taking time to enjoy life, the leadership position will
remain more fun and fresh.
Develop balance in your life and become a better leader
in your Grange!
