Dear Fellow Grangers,

Last Friday I sent out an email notifying you that Representatives McCall and Argall were planning to circulate a proposed bill that will transfer the appropriation of $50 million a year from the Motor License Fund to the General Fund to cover Pennsylvania State Police funding.  This legislation will over a period of ten years limit, reduce and ultimately eliminate the expenditures from the Commonwealth's Motor License Fund to the operations of the Pennsylvania State Police and reallocate those funds ($500 million total) towards Commonwealth transportation infrastructure.  This change coincides with a resolution which was passed at our last State Session in Williamsport which is now Grange Legislative Policy.

I asked everyone to thank Representatives McCall and Argall for introducing this legislation as well as contacting your own local representatives to encourage them to sign on as co-sponsors of this proposed bill.  To date, only 11 representatives have signed as co-sponsors.

THE GRANGE NEEDS TO LET THEIR LEGISLATORS KNOW THAT THEY SUPPORT THIS LEGISLATION BY CONTACTING YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND ASKING THEM TO SIGN ON AS A CO-SPONSOR.

Dear Representative__________;

As a member of ____________ Grange #______, in __________ County I am very concerned with the present problems in our transportation funding.  The PA State Grange has legislative policy supporting the transfer of State Police funding from the Motor License Fund to the General Fund, allowing a larger percentage of the motor licensing fund to be utilized for road repair.

Representatives McCall and Argall are planning to introduce a bill which would legislate this transfer of the appropriation of funds, specifically for Pennsylvania State Police.  I ask you to please contact Rep. McCall and/or Argall and sign on as a co-sponsor of this bill in support of the Grange's legislative policy.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
