Do you find it hard to recruit new members? If so, try asking a non-member
for help. There are several good reasons to ask for help in your Grange.
First, it means that your Grange is either doing something or planning on
doing something. After all, we don’t ask people to help when we don’t need
it. Look for assistance for a project that may be getting too big for your
members or for a new project that will benefit the community.
Second, when you ask for help you are making the person you ask feel
important and needed. When a person believes that others think that they are
important, it raises the person’s opinion of that group. You are far more
likely to join a group if you know that they think you are needed and
important to their success.
Lastly, when someone does help you out, you will learn more about them and
what interests them. This will make recruitment much easier as you will have
a much better idea of what they are looking for. Also they will already have
bought into the Grange to a degree because of their involvement.
Ask someone to help your Grange and watch the incredible happen!
