Washington, D.C. 29 Grange members from across the Commonwealth participated in this year's National Grange Legislative Fly-In to Washington, D.C. on Monday.  27 Grangers boarded a bus at the Farm Show Complex at 8:00 a.m. and arrived at the National Cathedral for a guided tour at about 10:30.

After their tour, they were shuttled to the Cannon Building at the U.S. Capitol for a luncheon where they were met by PA State Grange President Betsy Huber and another PA Grange member who traveled on her own to the nation's capital.  Members took advantage of the lunch location and stopped in at their Congressman's offices.

After lunch, the Grangers went to the National Grange Headquarters building at 1616 H Street, NW where they were greeted by National Grange President Ed Luttrell and his staff.  National Grange Legislative Director Leroy Watson held a reception for Grange members from across the country.  Mr. Watson also had also arranged for various speakers for the afternoon who talked to members about "Health Care Reform: Bridging the Health Care Gap in Farming and Rural Communities" and "Farmer Mac, The Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation."

Following the speakers, PA Grangers were given a tour of their National Grange Headquarters building prior to boarding the bus to head back to Pennsylvania.  On their way home, they stopped at the Mountaingate Restaurant in Thurmont, MD for dinner and a group photo.
