Pennsylvania Junior Grangers, Brittany Haag and Ashley
Mohn were awarded the Super JG Award at the National Grange Convention
held in Cromwell, CT. The Super JG Award is given each year at the
National Grange Convention to an elite group of Junior Grangers. Junior
Grangers have several criteria to meet before they are considered for
this honor.
Brittany and Ashley, the only two recipients from Pennsylvania, were two
of the ten award winners given out for the entire nation. To receive
this honor, Junior Grangers must complete several steps, including
demonstrating a strong Junior Grange background, creating a Junior
Grange program, taking a Junior Grange test and being recommended by
their Junior Grange leader.
Brittany and Ashley are both members of the Marion Junior Grange in
Berks County, where they are very active. They have held leadership
roles within their Junior Grange for many years. Brittany, 15,is the
daughter of David and Mary Haag of Mohrsville, and Ashley, 14, is the
daughter of Steven and Karen Mohn of Womelsdorf. Both girls have served
as Berks County Junior Grange Princess. Brittany was the PA State Junior
Grange Princess last year, while Ashley is the current PA State Junior
Grange Princess.
National Grange Master, Ed Lutrell, presented each girl with a special
Super JG pin and a trophy during the National Junior Grange breakfast.
