Thread is a long, thin strand of cotton, polyester, or other fiber used in sewing or weaving.  Thread is used to sew your quilt squares together to form your quilt. There are many choices of thread types in which to sew.   There is no answer to how much thread it will take to make a quilt.  How much thread needed depends on the size of the quilt, style, design patterns, and stitching styles used.  Thread is wrapped on spools made of such things as wood, plastic or even styrofoam.
