Sunflower​

Quilters are often drawn to sunflowers as their bright yellow color variations are to be admired and they make pretty quilt block centerpieces.

Pennsylvania rural areas have become quite popular as farmers have been growing acres and acres of sunflowers.  They are beautiful to look at, you can eat the seeds, or they can be used for sunflower oil.  Sunflowers also attract many types of bees for pollination, and attract birds to your garden.  Sunflowers can also help with problem soil that may have heavy metals or poisonous chemicals as they can detox contaminated soil ​("The Micro Gardener", 2017).
